DateSpot Client Service Terms
Last Updated: June 3, 2025
The Client route means you receive our matchmaking service. The Candidate route does not offer any level of proactive search, contacting you, or focusing on you.
- There is no annual or monthly membership fee to be a Client. You may create an account completely free. There is no obligation to be a Client if you create an account.
- To begin with our matchmaking service, you must do a Deep-Dive Video Call, scheduled for 45 minutes. This is $299, and the only upfront required cost. This fee is for our time to clarify your search, touch on your relationship history of what has and has not worked, review your photos, answer any questions, and decide whether this is the right path for you. The video call fee is non-refundable, even if we do not present any suitable candidates, since dates are not forced and blind and we need mutual interest to make them happen.
- We will conduct an initial search to ensure we have at least 10 potential matches based on major filterable criteria and take you on as a Client when you have fulfilled that minimum. You may choose to do an add-on of Match Previews for $399 to secure the entire list of potentials, which many Clients prefer as it provides a higher level of confidentiality (as you see the prospects first to say whether you know them and are interested enough for us to contact them), gives more insight into the people we're selecting, allows you to provide valuable feedback on multiple people at once, and greatly speeds up the process and chances of success in 6 months.
- We create your “sharable profile” and send it to you for review. The sharable profile may change at any point based on what we decide to edit and photos we may select or exclude.
- The fee to meet a match is $699, no matter whether they’re a DateSpot member or a client of a partner matchmaker, or what their DateSpot membership is. By joining as a Client, you agree to pay this price should we find a suitable match and there is mutual interest. If you ever want to opt out, please email support@datespot.love with the update and downgrade in your Account Settings.
- You may offer a higher bonus to our partner matchmakers to give them a greater incentive than the standard $300 commission we offer them. Many Clients give an extra $200 to make the "bounty" an even $500 to them, which is sufficient in getting most matchmakers to work for us.
- Being a Client allows you to receive match options from anyone within our network and partner networks when there is mutual interest. To match with you, they would pay $0 if they a Candidate or $699 if they are a Client. If they are a client of a partner matchmaker, they would not pay DateSpot anything as they have already paid their matchmaking company.
- There are no guaranteed intros or match options - we will bring you as many people as we see fit, with no quota. We aim to provide at least 3 Recommended Dates within the 6 month proactive timeframe, but what is actually presented depends on your unique search and who is available. The frequency and quantity of Recommended Dates varies per client and is dependent on your unique situation and search parameters. We may search for you at any time during your membership. Do not expect us to be continually proactively recruiting and searching for you or giving regular updates.
- We try to report on your initial results via email after one month, and again after 2 months, if we do not have a Recommended Date by then. Feel free to check in with us up to once per month by email.
- Introductions are on a pay-per-match basis, where each intro occurs after your payment.
- Payment is accepted through Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or credit card. Pricing may change over time, but you will always have the option to pay for the intro fee at the time of a potential match. We will never automatically charge you.
- We can vet all U.S.-based Recommended Dates by video call. We generally will include in each Recommended Date whether the person has already been met with. If that info is not provided, you can ask us. If you need to have us meet someone to help make your decision, we will by request after knowing you have some interest. International members may not be vetted due to the time difference, but we ask for photo verification – a photo of the candidate holding a piece of paper that says “DateSpot [date]”. If a potential match is a partner matchmaker's client, matchmakers generally trust each other and rely on multiple photos and account info. This means that most of those clients will NOT be vetted live.
- In the U.S., introductions are generally done via text to protect privacy of last names and get the fastest response. Internationally, we generally do intros by email to avoid anyone paying phone fees.
- Date planning is done by you and the match, which allows you to choose a mutually desirable time and location and easily reach each other in case of last minute changes.
- You can pause your membership for an unlimited amount of time if you become exclusive with someone, or for any reason. Please notify us or change your tier in your Account Settings if you ever want to pause, change your tier, or cancel.
- We maintain your privacy. We post “Client Spotlights” on our social media platforms to highlight the breadth of our members and pull in new leads. We would ONLY show a photo or video of you when you have given your explicit permission.
- We may share your profile with anyone at any time who may be helpful in the search, including our private matchmaker-specific groups, individual matchmaking companies, or people who are very similar to what you're looking for.
- Information about any members is confidential and not to be shared without DateSpot’s explicit permission.
- You also agree to the full Terms and Conditions of the website.
We look forward to working with you and helping you find lasting love!
