Member (To Be Matched)

When you register as a Member, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Optional phone number
  • Profile information you choose to provide (including photos, preferences, and responses to matchmaking questions)

Your Profile is designed to help matchmakers evaluate compatibility. Some fields are required to complete onboarding, but most profile information is optional.

Partner Matchmaker

If you apply as a Partner Matchmaker, we collect:

  • Name and contact details
  • Business name and website
  • Business address and professional information
  • Information about your matchmaking services (e.g., geography, pricing, client focus)

We may use this information to evaluate eligibility for access to our platform.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Site, we automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device information
  • Pages viewed and activity on the Site
  • Referring and exit pages
  • Approximate usage timestamps

This information is used for analytics, security, and improving the Site.

1.3 Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Google Analytics usage tracking
  • Site performance and functionality

We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies. If this changes in the future, we will update this Policy and provide appropriate user controls.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as described below:

3.1 Within the Matching System

With Matchmakers

Certain Profile information is shared with:

  • DateSpot internal matchmakers
  • Approved Partner Matchmakers

This sharing is limited to information necessary for evaluating compatibility.

We do not share:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address

unless you explicitly approve a connection.

We can share phone number if requested by the matchmaker. We do not share home address and prefer to not store that information in our database.

3.2 Member Connections

When a match is made, we may facilitate introductions by sharing:

  • First name
  • Phone number (when applicable and required for connection)

3.3 Partner Matchmaker Introductions

When a Partner Matchmaker requests to connect with you and you consent:

  • We facilitate an introduction via email
  • Only necessary contact information is shared

We do not share Partner Matchmaker contact details publicly to maintain platform integrity.

3.4 Video Features

Members may optionally upload video clips.

Video access may be:

  • Included if a user has also uploaded a video, or
  • Available via a paid access fee (currently $50 per video view)

This feature is optional, and you control whether you upload video content.

3.5 Service Providers

We use third-party providers to support operations, including:

  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • CRM and internal matching tools (e.g., SmartMatchApp)
  • Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)

These providers only access information necessary to perform their services.

3.6 Legal Compliance

We may disclose information if required to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Respond to lawful requests from authorities
  • Enforce our Terms of Use
  • Protect rights, safety, and security of users or DateSpot
  • Investigate fraud or abuse

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

At the point of deletion, all your personal data from active systems is removed and is no longer visible to matchmakers. Deleted data may be retained only if required by law or legal obligation.

You may:

  • Deactivate your account (profile hidden but data retained)
  • Delete your account (permanent removal request)

Deletion requests are processed within 7 days.

5. Your Privacy Controls

You may:

  • Update or edit your Profile at any time
  • Deactivate your account via settings
  • Request full deletion by contacting support@datespot.love
  • Opt out of non-essential emails (e.g., newsletters)

We will still send essential communications related to:

  • Matches
  • Account status
  • Policy updates
  • Security notifications

6. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS / TLS)
  • Secure password storage practices
  • Role-based database access controls
  • Segmented data storage systems (“sharding”)
  • Security controls provided by third-party vendors

No system can guarantee absolute security, but we continuously work to protect your data.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services.

We are not responsible for:

  • Their privacy practices
  • Their security practices
  • Their content or policies

We encourage you to review their privacy policies before using their services.

8. Social Media and Embedded Features

The Site may include social media features or embedded widgets.

These may collect:

  • IP address
  • Pages visited
  • Interaction data

Your use of these features is governed by the privacy policies of the third-party providers.

9. Partner Matchmakers

Partner Matchmakers may access limited Profile information for compatibility screening.

Access is granted only after approval by DateSpot.

Partner Matchmakers:

  • Do not receive Member contact details without consent
  • May request introductions through DateSpot
  • Operate independently once an introduction is made

We are not responsible for how Partner Matchmakers handle data once it is shared directly with them outside our system.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

If we see that a minor has subscribed, we mark their account as not visible to the matchmakers. When they turn 18 we may make their account eligible for matching.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If changes are material, we will notify registered Members and/or Partner Matchmakers as applicable.

The updated Policy will always be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
